Priced by job type rather than by the day, because a day rate tells you nothing about what you end up with.
For context: corporate video in New Zealand generally runs $3,000 to $30,000 for a finished project, and freelance day rates sit between $800 and $2,500. Everything below starts near the bottom of that.
A shoot day, a finished main film and a vertical cut for social. For company profiles, product launches and campaign pieces.
A full day on site and a recap edit. Conferences, awards nights, launches, AGMs and performances.
A shoot day and a set of finished vertical cuts, captioned and ready to post.
From $1,800 a month. A shoot day each month and a batch of finished cuts, so there’s always something going out. Three month minimum, and the rate holds across the term.
Talk it through →Not everything needs a full day.
Up to four hours, one location, one finished cut.
Footage already shot? Long-form down to short, colour grading, captions and vertical versions, in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve.
Multi-day shoots, multi-camera conferences, campaigns with several deliverables and a crew. Tell me what you’re planning and I’ll build a quote around it.
All quoted on the job, and asked for at the quote stage rather than three weeks later.
An Auckland conference, 200 people, one day on site. A full day, a second camera locked off on stage, a recap edit and three vertical cuts.
Four deliverables from one shoot day. Your quote comes itemised line by line, so you can see what you’re paying for and take something out if you don’t want it.
Hours on site. Past eight hours is an overtime line rather than a surprise afterwards.
How many deliverables come off the shoot, and in how many formats.
Whether a second camera goes up, which matters when a moment only happens once.
Turnaround. Same-night edits change how the whole day is shot.
Travel. Auckland-wide included, beyond 50 km quoted per job.
Because a day rate tells you nothing about what you end up with. Two people can quote the same day and deliver wildly different things. Pricing by job means the number is attached to a deliverable.
Yes, and nothing is attached to it. Send the date and roughly what you want, and it comes back itemised, usually within a few hours.
Most don't exactly. These are starting points. Tell me the actual job and I'll price that.
I hold the copyright. You have a licence to use the delivered videos from delivery, which becomes permanent once the invoice is paid. Raw footage isn’t included as standard and goes on the quote as its own line where you want it. Full detail on the terms page.
Where one applies it's on the quote, and the date isn't held until it's received.
If equipment or media failure loses footage, you get the fees for the affected work back or a reshoot at my cost. Everything else is on the terms page.
Prices are in NZD. No GST is added.
The venue, the date and what you want out of it is enough to quote from.
