A half day costs most of a full day once travel and setup are counted, so it is not priced at half. It suits one interview, a short promo or one thing done properly.

Most jobs get shaped around a budget rather than the other way round. No job is too small to ask about, and the quote is free either way.

Ongoing content From $1,800 a month

A shoot day each month and a batch of finished cuts, so there is always something new to post. Three month minimum, and the rate holds across the term.

$600–$4,000

One person shooting and editing, insured, with backup on the day.

The person who filmed it cuts it, so nothing gets lost in a handover. No producer or account manager to pay for, which is the whole reason the numbers sit where they do. Extra crew, actors or a graphics package get added to the quote when a job needs them.

Bigger than this?

Multi-day shoots, multi-camera conferences, campaigns with several deliverables and a crew. Tell me what you are planning and I will build a quote around it.

## Available on any job

All priced on the quote, off a shoot you are already paying for, so the shoot cost is never paid twice.

Second camera

Two angles that cut together in the grade. Worth it for a stage, a panel or anything that only happens once.

Extra cuts

More finished pieces off the same shoot day. The edit is most of the work, so a second piece is its own line.

Vertical and square

The same footage recut and resized for the feed. Cheapest asked for at the quote stage.

Subtitles

Burned in or as a separate SRT file. Plenty of people watch social video on mute, so it is rarely optional.

Pull-quotes

Short speaker clips lifted out of a longer piece, captioned to stand on their own in a feed.

Stills selection

Frames pulled from the footage, graded and delivered alongside the video, for a write-up or a deck.

Raw footage

Not standard, but it can go on the quote as its own line at $400. Worth asking before the shoot.

Archive storage

Raw footage is held for 90 days after delivery. Archive storage keeps it for twelve months instead, from $150 for a single shoot day and $250 for multi-day or multi-camera. Renewable, and cheapest asked for at the quote stage.

Rush turnaround

Priority is next working day to three working days. Same night changes how the whole day gets covered.

All quoted on the job, and cheapest when they are on the quote from the start.

## Turnaround

Standard

One to two weeks for a full edit, about a week for social cuts. Included.

Priority

Next working day to three working days, arranged when the job is booked.

Same night

Same night or next morning. Say so before the shoot, because it changes how the whole thing gets covered.

Worked example Auckland · 200 people

A one-day [conference](https://declangale.com/services/conference-video-auckland). Full day on site, a second camera locked off on stage, a recap edit and three vertical cuts.

Full day on site

Up to ten hours

Second camera

Locked off on stage, matched body

Recap edit

Two to three minutes, graded

Three vertical cuts

Captioned, sized for the feed

Around $2,700

Illustrative, not a quote.

Four deliverables from one shoot day. Your quote is set out the same way, with a price against each line, so nothing is hidden. Deliverables can come off before you book. The shoot and the edit that makes it usable are one line, not two.

## What moves the number

01

How long the day is

Half days cost less. Anything past ten hours is charged as overtime, at the rate on your quote.

02

How many finished pieces

One recap is one price. A recap plus five cut-downs is a different edit, and the edit is most of the work.

03

A second camera

Two angles that cut together in the grade, worth it for stage, panels and anything you only get one shot at.

04

How fast you need it

Standard turnaround is included. Same night changes how the day is shot, so it is priced and planned up front.

05

Travel

Auckland-wide is covered. Beyond 50 km, travel and flights go in as their own line so there is no surprise at the end.

## Questions about price

Why is there no day rate?

Because a day rate tells you nothing about what you end up with. Two jobs can take the same day on site and land three weeks apart in the edit. Pricing by job type means the quote reflects the finished thing, not the hours.

Is the starting price what I will pay?

It is the floor, and plenty of jobs land on it. What pushes it up is a longer day, more finished pieces, a second camera, further rounds of changes or a rush turnaround, and each of those is a separate line on the quote.

Do you take a deposit?

Yes. A 50% deposit is how a date gets held, and it's on the quote before anything is booked. The date isn't held until it's in.

Is GST added?

No. Prices are in NZD and no GST is added on top.

Can I get a quote without committing?

Yes. Quotes are free and carry no obligation. Most people send two lines about the job and get a written quote back the same day.
